In that… Apparently this is a sequel to a film I've never heard of called On the Other Side of the Tracks that dropped in 2012. Guess I'll track it down now as I found this French buddy cop flick to be entertaining. Nothing we haven't seen before but it has a solid story, a likable lead duo, funny banter, and a few intense action sequences. Didn't need to be 2 hours long thoughsaid that alot lately. Solide Buddycop-Komödie aus dem Hause französische Film ist wirklich nichts besonderes. Die beiden Hauptfiguren sind sympathisch genug den Film halbwegs unterhaltsam zu machen, den Rest hat man irgendwo schonmal gesehen. Die Action ist ein bisschen zu verwackelt und das CGI ist auch nicht besonders gut. Die Musik ist nur Hintergrundgedudel, nichts was einem im Gedächtnis hängen ja, der Film ist auf Netflix, kann man sich durchaus ansehen, man sollte aber nicht zu viel erwarten. Stereotypical characters, predictable story, decent action scenes, a bit vulgar, and with frenetic editing that gets a bit tiring. Loin du périph is a rather absurd comedy that works solely because to the chemistry between Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte and that also attempts to point to some of the problems of modern France racism, xenophobia, and their relation to far-right politics that to a large extent spread throughout Europe nowadays. To be honest, and despite a couple of funny bits like the go-kart chase, it's a totally unnecessary sequel. If it weren't for the two leads, this would be a dull buddy cop action-comedy by Louis Leterrier. Both Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte are charming as hell. They had me grinning from ear to ear throughout. Broad comedy. Mediocre action sequences. Wet noodle of an ending, but one Neo-Nazi got a great death down white supremacists is always a plus. Unfortunately, racially charged comedies are not really made in the US anymore. I guess you can't really make a modern American comedy about fighting white supremacy/nationalism without mentioning the people that voted for you know who. Omar Sy tiene un carisma tremendo, que te engancha a todo, pero estas películas de Netflix ahora duran 2 horas sin necesidad, deberían durar 1 hora con 15 minutos a lo máximo. Historia larga y tediosa con algo de acción. "The Takedown" ist echt nichts besonderes. Die x-te Buddy-Cop-Komödie, bei der man alles schon mal so oder so ähnlich gesehen hat. Wirklich Spannung oder Interesse an der Story kommt hier nicht auf, auch witzig ist das nur ganz ganz selten. Der Soundtrack ist genauso wenig besonders oder in irgendeiner Weise wiedererkennbar. Bei den Actionszenen muss der Kameramann auch mal wieder nen Schlaganfall gehabt haben. Generell ist die Inszenierung echt nicht gut. Oft wird viel zu viel mit bunten Farben gearbeitet, sodass sich das beinahe wie ein Kinderfilm anfühlt. Abgesehen von eins, zwei "brutalen" Szenen ist hier auch alles sehr zahm. Zum Glück ist Omar Sy von Grund auf genug sympathisch um den Film doch halbwegs erträglich zu machen, auch die… Omar Sy und Laurent Lafitte haben sich bei "Ein Mords-Team" so sehr miteinander verstanden, das eine weitere Kollaboration für sie persönlich eine ausgemachte Sache Sy und und Louis Leterier "The Transporter 1+2" haben ebenfalls bei den Dreharbeiten zur Netflix-Hitserie "Lupin" gefallen aneinander gefunden und wollten wieder was zusammen Entscheidungsträger bei Netflix zückte daraufhin das Scheckheft und fertig ist ein Sequel nach zehn 10 Jahren zu einem moderat erfolgreichem Film, der aber zumindest den beteiligten offenbar die erhoffte gute Laune am Set diese überträgt sich auf den Zuschauer ganz ohne Zweifel und trügt über manch leider viel zu lang ausgewalzte, schlecht getimte Comedyszene hinweg, gerade zu Beginn des Filmes. Warum? Ganz einfach man ist so… Everyone loves to drag Micheal Bay for the way he edits & moves his camera, but after watching how Louis Leterrier does it ... I think it's hard to argue with the skill at which Bay does it. I think Louis Leterrier is a pretty shit director. He brings the same aimless roving camera & nonsensical, jittery AF editing that made me rage quit watching The Dark Crystal and I LOVE the Jim Henson Company to another tired action film that is saved only by the fact that Omar Sy is a legit moviestar who keeps trying to rise above the material, only to have Leterrier's direction undercut his charisma at almost ever turn. I admit I watched this film with the… This is an unexpected sequel to "On the Other Side of the Tracks" which was a forgettable but watchable buddy movie released in 2012. Despite some decent action and the actors, the scenario is too dumb and conventional to maintain interest. Wenn sich Riggs und Murtaugh in brenzligen Situationen befanden, konnte es schon dann und wann mal zur Auflockerung zu nem flapsigen Spruch oder Joke kommen, aber immer doch noch dem Rahmen der Situation angepasst und nie zu überzogen. Das machte den Charme, Klasse und die Coolness der "Lethal Weapon"-Reihe "MordsTeam" Diakhité und Monge gespielt von Omar Sy und Laurent Lafitte hingegen wäre einerseits zu gerne das neue Riggs/Murtaugh-Team, konnte sich aber leider andererseits auch nie so recht entscheiden, ob sie nicht doch lieber Terrence Hill und Bud Spencer auf dem "Die Besucher"-Christian Clavier-Slapstiktrip sein wollen. Das macht die guten Ansätze des 2012er Erstlings bereits größtenteils zunichte und verhindert unterm Strich nun auch bei der 10 Jahre späteren…
